It’s almost May which means we have so many movie releases coming up. Summer blockbuster season is upon us and May has plenty of movies to offer for all the movie fans. We know Sinners is probably the best movie to be released this year but here is a quick preview of what May has to offer.
Thunderbolts
The 36th movie of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the final film of Phase Five of The Multiverse Saga. Whew. I like the vibe of a group of antiheros having to save the day. Something different but I’m also very skeptical about MCU movies these days. They do have Bucky Barnes so that is a plus for me. Early reviews say this one is good and you know me, I did like the trailer so obviously I’m in. (Release Date: May 2)
Friendship
A new comedy movie from A24 starring Paul Rudd and Tim Robinson. The last A24 movie I watched was Y2K and that was terrible so this will hands down be better. This one will make you laugh but I also have a feeling it might be creepy at some points. I wonder how blurry the line will be between being friends and taking it too far. Your move A24. (Release Date: May 9)
Final Destination: Bloodlines
It's been 14 years since the last Final Destination movie. This meant I obviously had to go back and rewatch them all. I like this one is dealing with more of a backstory and doing something a bit different. This is one that you really don't want to watch the trailer because you don't want too much being spoiled. I will post it anyway just watch at your own risk. (Release Date: May 16)
Mission: Impossible---The Final Reckoning
You have to admit it. One of the best action franchises of all-time. Almost 30 years and I argue that the movies keep getting better. This is one where I for sure want to rewatch them all (even the second one). This one is probably the one I'm most excited for this month. This is one you have to experience in the theater. TC knows how to do it big. Last chapter for Ethan Hunt? (Release Date: May 23)
Lilo & Stitch
I know this will be a shock if you know me since the rumor is I don't like/watch too many animated or Disney movies. I do watch them every now and again and this is one I'm looking forward to. Rumor is Disney might be cutting back on the live-action remakes so let's hope this one is good. Should be interesting to see whether this one or the new Mission: Impossible take the top spot at the box office over Memorial Day weekend. (Release Date: May 23)
And there you have it. Those are the movies I think you should check out this month. There is also plenty I left off that could be better? Let me know in the comments what movies you watched and which ones I should check out. Cheers and Happy Viewing!
