It is the best time of the year. Football is in full swing. In some places the weather is getting cooler and October officially marks Spooky Season and you could argue the start of the entire holiday season (if you love Halloween as much as I do). The horror movies are already rolling but we do have some more coming out and the next LEO movie! Here is my quick preview.
The Exorcist: Believer
Holy shit I'm so hyped for this. The Exorcist is an all-time horror classic and this sequel looks damn good. The fact that Ellen Burstyn is back from the original is awesome and from the trailer...this looks creepy AF. My experience with these exorcism movies is always 50/50 but this one looks awesome and would be worth watching in the theater. (Release Date: October 6th)
Freelance
Surprising to me that October has less horror movies coming out than September. This action comedy starring John Cena and Alison Brie is breaking up the trend of horror movies the past few months. I have actually been mildly surprised with John Cena's acting as I do find him to be pretty funny. This seems like it could be a funny date night movie. (Release Date: October 6th)
Killers of the Flower Moon
I have no words. It's the greatest actor of all-time Leonardo DiCaprio and arguably one of the best directors Martin Scorsese. They are calling this possibly Leo's best performance of all-time. That is saying something considering he has one of the best resumes out there. This one could be a major Oscar contender (if the strike ever ends). Runtime is at 207 minutes. You bet your ass I will be going to the theater for this one. (Release Date: October 20)
Five Nights at Freddy's
This is one that I wasn't sure about at first but now I'm really looking forward to it. An intriguing trailer and Matthew Lillard has me excited for it. Basically reminds me if I was trapped inside a haunted Chuck E. Cheese and that place is already creepy enough as it is. I don't find the box office success likely but this has the makings of having a large cult following. (Release Date: October 27th)
Pain Hustlers
The duo I never thought that we needed. Chris Evans and Emily Blunt look to carry this crime drama film that is heading to Netflix. I also love this trailer because it is what trailers should be like...A little over one minute long and doesn't reveal too much at all. That is how all trailers should be. I will be watching this. (Release Date: October 27th)
We all know that I'm obviously most excited for Leo's new movie but I'm also really pumped for the new Exorcist movie. I'm picking Five Night at Freddy's to be my sleeper pick for this month. Which movies are you going to watch this month? Did I miss any? Let me know in the comments. Cheers and Happy Viewing!
