Championship Weekend 2024: Four Teams Focused on Vegas

The entire podcast is now on board with football sucks. A heartbreaking loss last week for the Packers as only four teams remain on the road to Sin City. We only have a few weekends left of football this year and here is a quick preview of the AFC and NFC Championship games leading up to Super Bowl LVIII.

AFC Championship Game

Kansas City Chiefs @ Baltimore Ravens (Sunday 3:00 p.m. on CBS)

The running joke around the internet is that Lamar Jackson is the guy to save us. Save us from the Kansas City Swifties making the Super Bowl. These two last met back in 2021 with the Ravens winning that game 36-35. KC does lead the all-time series 7-5 It has been a streaky all-time series with the Ravens losing three straight, then winning four straight and then losing four straight. Chiefs are in the sixth consecutive AFC title game. That is wild. I think the streak finally ends this year and the Chiefs and T-Swift are going home sad. The Ravens win 31-28.

Crew Picks:

Chris: Ravens 31-28

Chase: Ravens 27-17

Jason: Chiefs 30-29

NFC Championship Game

Detroit Lions @ San Francisco 49ers (6:30 p.m. on FOX)

Jared Goff vs. Brock Purdy. Did anyone predict this QB matchup for the NFC title game? The 49ers are loaded with talent and a QB like Purdy can do just enough to win the game. Goff and the Lions are the team I feel like many have rallied behind. Also probably is the fact that everyone loves Dan Campbell. These two didn't meet during the regular season. The 49ers lead the all-time series 39-26-1 and have one the last two meetings. This should be another good game but I think the 49ers are going to end the feel good story of the 2023 Detroit Lions. 49ers win 30-17.

Crew Picks:

Chris: 49ers 30-17

Chase: 49ers 31-27

Jason: Hopes the NFC implodes and forces a forfeit

I do predict it will be a battle of the 1 seeds with the Ravens and 49ers advancing to Super Bowl LVIII. You know my thoughts. I don't have a team in the fight but I am here for some good games. If you are keeping score at home, Jose still doesn't care and "gives less fucks than the weeks before." Who do you think will advance to the Super Bowl? Let me know in the comments. Cheers and FOOTBALL!!
