FSU 2023 Football Preview: This Is The Year….

Updated: Aug 27, 2023

This is what we have been waiting for since we hired Mike Norvell. The hype is very real in Tallahassee this year. Plenty of returning stars and cleaning up in the transfer portal has FSU primed to make a run. They are preseason Top 10 and a contender to win the ACC and even make an appearance in the College Football playoff.

Here is my quick breakdown and predictions for the 2023 season. I will post mine now and throughout the season we will post our weekly game predictions on social media. (message us if you want to include your prediction with ours). Enjoy another hype video from our boy Jason below!

Game 1: LSU (9/3/23 in Orlando)

FSU kicks off their season for the second straight year against LSU. This time it is in Orlando which should give the advantage crowd wise to FSU. FSU could have easily won big last year but some late mistakes made the game much closer than planned. I still remember tossing my drink in the air after that blocked PAT. FSU will continue their streak against LSU in arguably one of their toughest games of the season. FSU wins 35-28

Game 2: Southern Miss (9/9/23)

FSU kicks off their home schedule with a game against Southern Miss. Coming off an emotional game against LSU might result in a slow start but once the Noles lock in, they should cruise in this game. The last matchup was back in 2017 with a 42-13 win for the Noles. This matchup should be about the same. FSU wins 49-10

Game 3: @ Boston College (9/16/23)

A noon kick for the first road ACC game of the year. Noles dominated BC at home last year (I remember the opening game kickoff return TD). I expect JT and the offense to put up big numbers and get a solid win as the Noles start off this season with a 3-0 record. FSU wins 38-7

Game 4: @ Clemson (9/23/23)

Some would argue the toughest or second toughest game on the schedule. FSU is trying to snap a 7 game losing streak to Dabo and Clemson. It will be tough on the road as always in Death Valley but I feel confident heading into this. I hate it so much but I feel that our losing streak continues against those damn Tigers. A rematch in December at the ACC title game. Clemson wins 24-21.

Game 5: Virginia Tech (10/7/23)

Noles kick off October and post bye week with Virginia Tech visiting for the first time since 2018. I barely remember that game and that is for the best. Time to avenge that loss and I think FSU will do just that. No swag surfing just a good ass-kicking to start off October. FSU wins 37-17.

Game 6: Syracuse (10/14/23)

Our three week homestand continues with Syracuse coming to town. We dominated them 38-3 up there last year and I think it is nearly a repeat this year. Too much offense from FSU and I say a dominant performance from the defense. No points from Syracuse this game. FSU wins 45-0.

Game 7: Duke (10/21/23)

The most intriguing game of the month in Tallahassee. Duke has never beaten FSU but Duke has been decent the past few years. This might be closer than we expect but I do think FSU wins and remains perfect against Duke. I'm saying three touchdown passes from JT (two will be to Johnny Wilson!) FSU wins 31-21.

Game 8: @ Wake Forest (10/28/23)

The best birthday present FSU could give me is just by crushing Wake Forest. The fact that we are on a 3 game losing streak to them just pisses me off. That changes this year. I hope we drop 50+ on them and take Snuggie Hill! Benson is going to have a monster day and Verse records at least 2 sacks. FSU blows out Wake 56-14.

Game 9: @ Pittsburgh (11/4/23)

This is the game when I saw the schedule that concerns me. Something about playing up there in November just doesn't sit right with me. Our last meeting in 2020 they blew us out 41-17. This game will be very different and even though it should be closer than planned, Noles pull it out. FSU wins 27-21.

Game 10: Miami (11/11/23)

Guess what? It's another year and "The U" isn't back. They are coming to Tallahassee to get their ass kicked again. Last time this rivalry was in Tally I was there at the dramatic end of the "4th and 14" that will never be forgotten. We are on a roll trending up and Miami is well...being Miami. FSU makes it three in a row. FSU wins 44-10.

Game 11: North Alabama (11/18/23)

FSU sitting pretty in the Top 10 at 9-1 for our home finale against North Alabama. The first ever meeting between us and I think it won't be close. It will be awesome for all the seniors and players that will be leaving to have one more game at Doak. Noles win this win big. FSU wins 59-10.

Game 12: @ Florida (11/25/23)

The Sunshine Showdown rounds up the season per usual. The game last year was very exciting and also made us a bit nervous. Also scoring 45 points resulted in plenty of shots and a very drunk Chris. Noles look to close out the season with 11 wins and a second straight win over UF. It's going to happen and this will ensure UF has a losing season. Suck it Gators! FSU wins 38-17

I am picking FSU to finish 11-1 (7-1) in the ACC. I expect a rematch with Clemson in the ACC Championship game (since we are both still there). I'm personally so excited for this season and truly believe this team will live up to the hype. Your two toughest games are in September and I would LOVE an undefeated season.

How do you think FSU will do this season? Let me know and enjoy the season and college football! GO NOLES!!
